Big screen spin-off from the spoof detective series 'Police Squad', from the makers of 'Airplane!'. Bungling Los Angeles police lieutenant Frank Drebin (Leslie Nielsen) is investigating potential drug smuggler Vincent Ludwig (Ricardo Montalban) when he falls for the magnate's attractive secretary, Jane Spencer (Priscilla Presley). However, the pair's budding romance is placed in jeopardy when Frank's boss (George Kennedy) tells him that an assassination attempt is being planned on the visiting Queen of England - and it is up to the inept Frank to prevent it!
