House of Whispers and Other Tales

Irene Armistead's first book War in a Pint Glass was published in May 2008. Incredibly, since then she has penned another three books of short stories and a full length novel, Devil's Eyes. Now in 2012 we are treated to yet another delightful book of short, and not so short, stories. House of Whispers resembles all of Irene's previous writing. It is racy, highly entertaining and offers subtle digs at the behaviour of people both from bygone days and right up to the present moment. She writes with clarity and her stories contain both humour and pathos. This book, like her others, is an ideal travelling companion or the perfect way to pass the long winter nights.
