Eavesdropping on Millionaires

An in-depth look at the investment habits and money management techniques of the affluent Eavesdropping on Millionaires offers individual investors an opportunity to learn directly from those who have already traveled the road to significant wealth. Baseed on a detailed survey of 17,000 individuals, half of whom were millionaires (and 25% outside of the US), this book compares the attitudes of people from all levels of wealth, from those with very little to those with mega-wealth. Mauldin covers the basics of how their money was made, how it is currently invested and spent, their plans for the immediate future, and how they are planning to pass wealth on to their heirs. To supplement their survey, John and coauthor Tiffani Mauldin did in-depth hour-long interviews along with psychological profiling of millionaires from all over the world. Ranging from self-made millionaires to large, billion-dollar generational families, the interviewees come from all walks of life to provide a wide range of perspectives and some surprising nuggets of investment wisdom. While Eavesdropping on Millionaires serves up insights and experiences from the very affluent working in a variety of fields, it also skillfully analyzes the shared traits of this successful group. More than just an investment guide, Eavesdropping on Millionaires goes into detail on how millionaires live, their outlook for the future, their spending habits, how they train their children to deal with wealth, and how they enjoy life.
