Man in the Iron Mask

This is an extraordinary unravelling of fact from fiction, as Roger Macdonald sets about proving the historical existence of Aramis, Portos and Athos. Alexandre Dumas claimed his musketeers were pure imagination, but Macdonald has turned five years of careful research into a wonderfully exciting historical true story. As he reveals the connection between the musketeers and the 'Man in the Iron Mask', building up to the dramatic revelation of identity, fact outstrips fiction in compelling style. Honour and heroism, betrayal and intrigue, are set admist the lust jealousy and deadly poisons that reside in the court of the Sun King.
