The previous two sets in this series of live broadcast CDs from Georgie Fame covered the years 1964 up to 1967 and this one
picks up the story from the start of ‘68. So, what changes did that year bring in Georgie’s music? Impossible to ignore is the
release of “The Ballad Of Bonnie And Clyde” in December ’67. Was Georgie ignoring his roots? Not so if you examine this
album. It starts off with Georgie’s BBC TV show accompanied by the Count Basie Band and continues with Swedish and British
radio recordings of Georgie with his Band, a tight eight-piece unit featuring jazz and Blue Flames luminaries such as Eddie
Thornton, Johnny Marshall, John McLaughlin and Jon Hiseman.
